Job Name: Android Platform Engineer
Location- Tempare Or Gothenburg- Remote From EU
We are seeking a skilled Android Platform Engineer to join our dynamic automotive technology team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and customizing the core Android framework for our next-generation in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) and digital cockpit systems. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of consumer electronics and the automotive industry, shaping the future of the connected car experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and customize the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) for automotive-grade hardware.
- Integrate the Android platform with vehicle ECUs and peripherals using protocols like CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
- Debug and resolve complex, system-level issues across the full software and hardware stack.
- Optimize system performance, boot time, and stability for a seamless in-car experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, UI/UX, and quality assurance to deliver robust, production-ready software.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong professional experience in C++ and Kotlin/Java.
- Deep understanding of Android OS internals (AOSP), the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL), and the Android framework.
- Proven background in embedded systems development, particularly with embedded Linux.
- Excellent system-level debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with automotive communication buses (e.g., CAN).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience with Android Automotive OS.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies and hypervisors (e.g., QNX).
- Understanding of embedded systems security principles.
- Experience with Over-the-Air (OTA) update mechanisms.
- Familiarity with automotive functional safety standards like ISO 26262
