Join a global team as a Senior Network Engineer, where you will design, implement, and support advanced network technologies with a focus on security and cloud integration. You will play a key role in maintaining and troubleshooting a complex global data network. Schedule: from 5 am to 1 pm EST (11 am - 7-8 pm CET) OR 9 am - 5 pm EST.
Please note that working from the EPAM office 3 days per week is required.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy LAN and WAN network infrastructures
- Provide tier 3 troubleshooting for LAN/WAN alerts and issues
- Maintain monitoring and reporting systems for network performance
- Produce and update documentation for all network systems and configurations
- Participate in on-call rotation for non-business hours support
- Perform administrative duties including time entry and status reporting
- Configure and install network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs
- Conduct network maintenance and system upgrades including patches and security configurations
- Monitor system availability, performance, and resource utilization
- Apply configuration and change management policies for network infrastructure changes
- Implement security policies and tools in collaboration with the security team
- Coordinate with vendors and internal IT teams to resolve network problems
- Deliver technical training sessions to internal staff
- Ensure 24x7 availability for critical network support
- Analyze network data and provide recommendations for improvements
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of experience in network engineering roles
- Certification in CCNP or equivalent
- Proficiency in advanced network troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and offshore teams
- Experience with SDWAN technologies, preferably Silver Peak
- Knowledge of next-generation firewalls, Cisco Firepower preferred
- Competency in routing protocols, including EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco ASA, IPS, and ISE
- Familiarity with wireless networking, Cisco WLC preferred
- Ability to manage LAN switching technologies such as VLAN, VTP, STP, and EtherChannel
- Background in network security protocols, including VPNs, AAA, TACACS+, RADIUS, and 802.1x
- Experience working in data center environments with Cisco Nexus switches
- Capabilities in network performance monitoring and capacity planning
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills (B2+)
Nice to have
- Experience with firewall cloud services like Zscaler
- Knowledge of Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud platforms
- Familiarity with Citrix NetScaler load balancer
- Experience with Cisco FTD firewalls
- Skills in Aruba SD-WAN solutions
