We are hiring for an IT Security Analyst - Level I / Security Controls Assessor to work on a U.S. Federal Civilian project.
Candidates must have (or be able to obtain) a public trust clearance. This position requires candidates to obtain/maintain a public trust background investigation.
Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen (no Green Cards, no Visas, no Exceptions). Residency will be validated.
Start date: November 2025 (anticipated)
Job Summary
A security controls assessor (SCA) evaluates the security controls within the network to identify vulnerabilities and recommends actions to correct problems, working alone and as part of a team.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Conduct in-depth assessments of the management, operations, and technical security controls
- Analyze information and prepare reports describing the vulnerability level of the network with specific details as to what comprises data systems
- Document a plan to address vulnerabilities and continue to monitor the security of network systems
- Monitor and remediate any real-time risk management and ongoing information system authorization through the implementation of robust continuous monitoring processes using IDS
- Ensure audit trails, system logs and other monitoring data sources are reviewed periodically and comply with polices and audit requirements
- Establish and promote best practices to maintain high standards of excellence within the team
- Provide input on technical reports, studies or white papers
- Bachelor's degree in an IT related field of study
- 2+ years of experience in the IT security Federal arena as an ISSO, controls assessor, or related position
- Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-53 Rev 5 controls
- Experience using CSAM or other RMF approved system of record
- Must also hold one of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+ certification Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP or CASP+), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (no Green Cards, no Visas, no Exceptions)
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Federal Background Investigation
- Active Public Trust Clearance

Pay Range: $75,000 - $80,000 Annually
