We’re looking for a Junior Full Stack Developer with 1–2 years of experience working on technology projects. About Us

System Performance Support (SPS) is a branch within NSW Health that partners with health service executives, clinicians, and other Ministry teams to improve the performance and sustainability of health services across the state.

Specifically, you will be joining the State Operational Data Store (ODS) Program.

The ODS Program develops dashboards and digital tools to monitor performance, including the Patient Flow Portal, which tracks bed availability, discharge processes, and cleaning workflows, to enable a variety of statewide initiatives.

About The Role

The Junior Full Stack Developer is responsible for the development of solutions and initiatives or ad-hoc tasks that become the responsibility of the State ODS Program Team within the Ministry of Health. These applications consume large amounts of real-time data from numerous source systems used by over 40,000 staff from the Local Health Districts, Ministry of Health, Ambulance NSW, Health Share, eHealth, the Pillars and interstate jurisdictions (ACT Health and Network with Victoria).

The Health Manager level 2, starting salary from $109,857- $129,624 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38-hour work week.

What You Will Do

  • Grow your technical expertise by learning and mastering new technologies to build high-quality, scalable applications that support emergency, hospital, and community care settings.
  • Collaborate across teams to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade solutions, ensuring system reliability and performance through proactive support and issue resolution.
  • Work with modern tools and platforms including Angular, ASP.NET, SQL Server, PowerBI/SSIS, Stored Procedures, Web API, HTML, CSS/SASS, JavaScript, REST, Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, ADF, Synapse, and GIT source control.
  • Contribute to large-scale web applications, particularly Single Page Applications, with a strong understanding of front-end and back-end development principles.
  • Communicate effectively with internal team as well as clinicians and healthcare professionals, translating technical issues and solutions into clear, accessible language.
  • Report risks and issues that may impact delivery timelines or solution quality to the Technical Architect, ensuring transparency and accountability.

About You

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health. We are looking for:

  • Experience working with GIT source control.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft ADF and Synapse.
  • Experience with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server, PowerBI/SSIS, Stored Procedure, Web API.
  • Experience (>1 year) with large Single Page Applications as well as designing and developing web applications with a solid understanding of HTML, CSS/SASS, JavaScript, REST.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to identify the cause of issues and implement solutions with a focus on the emergency, hospital and community care settings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate issues and solutions in a simple manner to clinicians and other health care professionals.
  • Relevant educational background including a Bachelor degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science and Microsoft Azure Certificate (AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator) or (AZ-204: Developing Solutions) is preferable.
