Alibaba Cloud is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive business development and customer growth in Switzerland. This role focuses on identifying and expanding cloud opportunities in key Swiss industries, developing long-term relationships with enterprise customers, and aligning Alibaba Cloud’s solutions with strategic customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Relationship Establishment & Opportunity Development
• Conduct in-depth market and industry research to identify strategic customers and key industry trends in Switzerland.
• Proactively identify and approach potential enterprise clients, uncovering decision-making structures and mapping customer ecosystems.
• Understand customer needs using their business language, gaining trust through consultative engagement, and translating needs into actionable cloud solution opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including CXOs, IT leadership, and business stakeholders.
• Develop account strategies that align with customer business goals and Alibaba Cloud’s value proposition.
2. Account Growth & Secondary Development
• Manage and grow relationships with existing customers by identifying new opportunities across service, operation, and technical collaboration domains.
• Provide a seamless customer experience by ensuring Alibaba Cloud offerings meet or exceed client expectations.
• Drive account penetration through upselling, cross-selling, and expansion across business units or subsidiaries.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams (solution architects, operations, marketing, legal) to design and deliver customized proposals and project plans.
3. Strategic Insight & Customer Intelligence
• Regularly gather and update intelligence on customers’ business strategies, budgets, current IT infrastructure, supplier relationships, and organizational changes.
- • Anticipate client challenges and proactively offer Alibaba Cloud services as strategic enablers for transformation and innovation.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of proven sales experience in the IT or technology sector, with a strong record of success in the Swiss market.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior-level stakeholders, including C-level executives, in both technical and business environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking, business writing, and high-impact presentations.
• Strong experience engaging with national or regional business communities and industry networks in Switzerland is a significant advantage.
• Comfortable operating in a global, fast-paced, and culturally diverse organization.
• Capable of leading cross-functional collaboration, managing internal and external stakeholders across sales, technical, legal, and operational teams.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate change, resolve conflicts, and drive alignment within distributed teams while maintaining high ethical standards.
• Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken); Swiss German is a strong plus; Mandarin is an additional asset.
• Familiarity with channel sales, alliances, and partner ecosystems is a plus.
