Job description:

· Our client is actively seeking a freelance frontend developer with expertise in React/Next.js to join an innovative AI project.

About the Project

· At our client's AI, we are dedicated to pioneering new methods for delivering news and information through innovative, interactive, and conversational interfaces.

· This is a temporary project in collaboration with other departments. We are looking for a creative and motivated frontend developer who can quickly transform ideas into functional prototypes. You will collaborate closely with designers, AI specialists, and editors on experimental concepts that explore the future of news consumption.

· Your primary focus will be on building innovative, interactive, and conversational interfaces and developing a production-ready web application for a launch.

What You Will Be Doing

· You will play a key role in the development process, focusing on both speed and quality:

· Developing fast, functional formats using React and Next.js.

· Translating UX concepts into well-structured, maintainable code.

· Collaborating with UX/UI designers and researchers to conceive and build new interactive components.

· Applying sound code design patterns and a clear component architecture.

· Ensuring the application adheres to the basic principles of usability, performance, and accessibility.

· Recognizing the difference between proof-of-concept code and production-ready code, knowing when pragmatism should prevail.

What We Expect from You

Key Technical and Soft Skills:

· Proven experience with interactive web applications - Must Have React Strong knowledge of React (hooks, state management, component structure, reusability) - minimum 3 years' experience

· Proven experience in application development - minimum 5 years' experience

· Dutch language proficiency at CEFR-level C2

· Experience with component libraries like Material UI, HeroUI, etc. - minimum 1 year experience

· Experience with Next.js (is a plus)

· Understanding of AI-driven or data-intensive interfaces (is a plus)

· A sense of design, UX, and interaction: thinking about how something feels, not just how it works. Proven knowledge of UX and design.

· Comfortable with rapid iteration and experimentation in multidisciplinary teams.
