Role Description:

We are seeking a skilled Developer with strong expertise in Java and Angular (13+) to join our team in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Dutch language proficiency is a nice to have.

You will be responsible for developing high-quality, performant applications, leading technical initiatives, and contributing to the continuous improvement of development practices. The role includes occasional 24x7 support on a rotational basis (once every 7–8 weeks).

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and third parties to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Ensure application performance, quality, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs.
• Maintain high standards of code quality, organization, and automation.
• Participate in peer code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Lead and contribute to technical projects from conception to delivery.
• Develop and maintain Java-based web applications and RESTful APIs.
• Work on frontend applications using Angular 13+ as needed.
• Support continuous integration and deployment through GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in 24x7 application support on a rotating basis.
• Engage in continuous improvement and adopt modern DevOps and cloud-native practices.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related IT discipline (HBO/WO or equivalent).
• 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Java web frameworks.
• Proven track record as a Senior Software Engineer or Technical Lead.
• Strong experience in designing and implementing web applications and REST APIs.
• Experience with cloud development (Azure preferred, not mandatory) and serverless architecture.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and software design patterns.
• Proficiency in Kafka or other messaging systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and modern DevOps practices.
• Understanding of monitoring, observability tools, metrics, and actuators.
• Frontend development knowledge using Angular 13+.
• Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch language is a plus).
• A collaborative mindset and a good sense of humor.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools, particularly UiPath.
