We’re looking for a part-time (24h-32h) People Operations Specialist to keep everything behind the scenes running smoothly — from contracts and payroll to onboarding and employee support.
You’ll be the operational heartbeat of our People & Culture function, making sure everything is structured, compliant, and human.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their HR career who loves organizing, improving systems, and being the go-to person everyone relies on.
About Wellis
Wellis is a young, fast-moving healthtech scale-up with a clear mission: combine medical expertise, technology, and data to make healthcare smarter, more efficient, and more personal.
We started only 2 years ago, but experienced amazing traction and success leading us to the point where we are now creating structures, expanding teams with top talent, and setting up our product for growth.
We’re focused on lowering the barriers to care, especially for health concerns people don’t always feel comfortable seeking help for. Our treatment portfolio is expanding rapidly, and our ambition is to build long-term, digital-first solutions that support people across different stages of their health journey.
You’ll join an ambitious, international team where ownership is encouraged, collaboration is key, and impact is visible from day one. We’re opening our new office in Rotterdam this year, where the team will meet 1–2 days per week to brainstorm, build, and grow together.
About The Role
As our People Operations Specialist, you are the backbone of all People & Culture operations at Wellis. With your precision, empathy, and sense of structure, you make sure that contracts, payroll, employee data, and onboarding all run seamlessly.
You’ll ensure our people processes are compliant and efficient, while keeping a strong focus on the human side of work.
Your efforts will free up the rest of the team to focus on culture, growth, and development — and you’ll help shape the employee experience from day one.
You’ll report directly to the People & Culture Lead and collaborate closely with our leadership, finance, and recruitment teams.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage HR administration: contracts, extensions, and employee data in Personio.
- Coordinate payroll and ensure all payments are correct and on time.
- Act as the first point of contact for HR-related questions from employees and managers.
- Organize onboarding and help new hires feel at home from day one.
- Maintain accurate records for absence, leave, and compliance.
- Support events and culture initiatives that make Wellis a great place to work.
- Support in daily office operations making sure all teams have everything they need to perform.
- Improve HR processes and documentation to keep everything efficient and scalable.
- Monday – Review open HR tickets and payroll data; prepare contracts for new hires.
- Tuesday – Coordinate onboarding for upcoming starters and update personnel records.
- Wednesday – Improve an HR workflow in Personio or update internal templates.
- Thursday – Help organize an internal team event or onboarding session.
- Friday – Prepare HR data summaries and join a P&C sync to share progress and wins.
- 1–3 years of experience in HR administration, people operations, or office support.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with HR systems like Personio, Notion, or similar.
- Basic understanding of Dutch employment law (or eager to learn).
- Friendly, service-oriented, and an excellent communicator.
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Based in the Randstad area, able to join us 1–2 days per week in Rotterdam.
- A key role in shaping the operational foundation of Wellis’ People & Culture team.
- Hybrid working: mostly remote, with 1–2 days per week in our Rotterdam office.
- Pension scheme, travel reimbursement, and team events.
- A collaborative, ambitious environment where you can learn and grow fast.
- A company with a mission — to make healthcare more personal and accessible.
We keep it simple and transparent:
- Intro Call – with Tim (Talent Acquisition) to get to know each other.
- Interview with COO – deeper conversation about your background and vision.
- Case & Discussion – share your approach to building scalable People & Culture foundations.
- Final Conversation – with COO and founders for final alignment and next steps.
