This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Executive Director, IT Lead in Europe.

As Executive Director, IT Lead, you will oversee the establishment and execution of regional IT operations, serving as the key technology partner for business functions across Europe. You will bridge local stakeholders with global IT teams, ensuring that technology solutions are implemented efficiently and securely while aligning with global platforms. Your role will drive operational excellence, manage vendor partnerships, and scale IT capabilities through a combination of internal team development and strategic outsourcing. You will also support commercial, medical, and research functions with tailored IT solutions that comply with regional and global regulations. By leading change management, system adoption, and security initiatives, you will enable business growth and create a high-performing, reliable IT environment across the region.

Accountabilities:

  • Establish and manage regional IT operations, ensuring alignment with global IT platforms and operational standards
  • Serve as the primary liaison between European business functions (Commercial, Medical Affairs, Supply Chain, Quality) and global IT teams
  • Lead rollout, localization, and adoption of IT systems, including CRM, digital engagement, medical content, and field tools
  • Oversee system integrations, enhancements, and compliance with regional and global regulatory requirements
  • Manage Tier 1-2 support, onboarding/offboarding, and IT service delivery with operational excellence
  • Implement regional security controls, including identity management, data protection, audits, training, and incident response
  • Collaborate with R&D IT to enable secure access to research and clinical systems in compliance with GxP, GDPR, and other regulatory standards
  • Build and scale the regional IT team, including recruitment, performance management, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement


Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience building and scaling IT teams in regional operations, with at least 4 years leading IT in a life sciences organization
  • Minimum 12 years of experience delivering technology services and support, including Commercial systems
  • Hands-on knowledge of IT infrastructure, end-user services, and cybersecurity practices
  • Deep understanding of commercial data ecosystems (CRM, digital engagement, third-party sources) and their integration
  • Knowledge of master data management, data warehousing, and enterprise analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake)
  • Familiarity with GxP systems, regional regulatory frameworks, compliance, and data privacy standards
  • Strong organizational change management skills: driving adoption, clear communication, stakeholder alignment
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, capable of working across global, regional, and functional teams
  • Comfort with ambiguity, defining operating models, processes, and roles while implementing scalable capabilities
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required; advanced degree preferred
  • Preferred: experience supporting pre-commercial or commercial launches in pharma, oncology launches, and Omnichannel platforms
