We are seeking an experienced API Designer to join a dynamic IT team focused on mortgage solutions. The team operates across multiple locations in Spain and Portugal and collaborates closely with counterparts in the UK.
This role is ideal for professionals with strong technical expertise in API design who are passionate about working in collaborative environments and eager to grow both technically and in understanding the business domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Define APIs as products under the supervision of the Local and Global API Leads.
- Coordinate all aspects of API definition, engaging with solution architects, project teams, and functional experts.
- Ensure API definitions comply with global standards and governance.
- Identify, specify, and design APIs based on functional and technical requirements.
- Contribute to the evolution of API standards and patterns by providing feedback and promoting improvements.
- Deliver high-quality API specifications, documentation, and virtualization assets.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in REST fundamentals and API design best practices.
- Proficiency in OpenAPI (ideally version 3.0).
- Deep understanding of API standards and design patterns.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical roles.
- University degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in solution design and API architecture.
- Familiarity with API virtualization and documentation tools.
