We are looking for a RAN Network Planning and Design Engineer to join our team!
Main activities and tasks:
- Plan and design RAN (2G/4G/5G) networks, ensuring optimal coverage, capacity, and performance in alignment with business and customer requirements.
- Develop and validate RAN topology, frequency, and parameter plans.
- Support the implementation of solutions and changes initiated by client related to RAN network.
- Prepare technical design documents and validate implementation feasibility.
- Collaborate with operations, optimization, and field teams to ensure seamless deployment of changes.
- Manage and coordinate RAN software and feature rollout in collaboration with vendor (Ericsson) and internal stakeholders.
- Evaluate new features, conduct impact analysis, and validate post-rollout performance.
- Perform configuration, parameter tuning, and troubleshooting directly on live production nodes while ensuring network stability and minimal customer impact.
- Ensure strict adherence to change management and rollback procedures.
- Manage Inventory data and ensure consistency across all related systems (ENM, OSS, Configuration Management databases, etc.).
- Validate data accuracy for integration, audit, and performance purposes.
- Continuously monitor RAN KPIs, identify degradations, and execute corrective actions.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) of performance issues and implement optimization measures.
- Support interference detection and mitigation using advanced tools and methodologies.
- Provide technical support and coordination during incidents and network outages affecting RAN performance.
- Manage and review Change Requests (CRs) related to RAN design, implementation, and parameter updates.
- Provide customer complaint investigation and resolution support related to RAN quality and performance.
- Lead Public Event Assurance activities, including capacity planning, pre-event testing, and live monitoring.
- Work closely with Core, Transmission, and OSS teams to ensure end-to-end network quality.
- Interface with vendors (Ericsson) and partners for feature introduction, issue resolution, and performance improvement initiatives.
Required Experience:
- Solid knowledge of Mobile Networks RAN technologies, architecture, and protocol stacks.
- Proven experience in Back Office / 2nd line RAN operations/RAN Network Planning, Optimisation, including Incident and Change Management.
- Hands-on experience with RAN configuration, parameter tuning, interference analysis and fault handling.
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools, OSS systems, and ticketing platforms.
Specific skills & technical knowledge:
- Strong technical knowledge of Ericsson RAN and related OSS systems.
- Understanding of 5G SA/NSA architecture, mobility management, and feature activation.
- Working knowledge of RAN performance KPIs, optimization techniques, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with NFVI, Cloud RAN, and IP transport.
