Background:
The Co-worker Sales Tool empowers sales co-workers to deliver a superior customer experience by providing an intuitive sales tool for use in store. It integrates sales steering capabilities and ensures co-workers, regardless of experience level, can assist customers with confidence and efficiency. Key use cases include creating sales orders, navigating the range and providing accurate stock information.
The Co-worker Sales Tool is part of the new Core Digital Retail Offer (CORE) . It is an integral part of the ecosystem enabling sales in stores in markets across the globe.
The scope of the consultant services is to assist:
The consultant services required will focus on delivering a high-quality sales tool, emphasizing intuitive interface design, integration with other systems withing the CORE offer, and adherence to accessibility standards. Consultants will play a key role in decision-making, system integration, and collaboration with other teams to ensure a seamless and efficient sales experience for co-workers and customers alike.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to a key component of digital transformation within the retail space, focusing on creating a superior user experience for sales co-workers across several global markets.
The main tasks in the assignment are as below:
- Develop backend business services that power assisted in-store sales, order management, and related workflows
- Apply Domain-Driven Design to model complex retail logic with high business fidelity
- Implement event-sourced logic to support traceable, auditable, and evolvable systems
- Deliver performant, cloud-first services designed to scale across multiple markets
- Design and maintain high-quality REST APIs with clear contracts and versioning
- Work closely with frontend and integration teams to support full customer journeys
- Contribute to API and domain model alignment across services
Required skills and experience:
- Deep experience with ASP.NET Core in building modern, high-throughput APIs
- Strong focus on API-first development, with emphasis on clarity, performance, and long-term maintainability
- Solid understanding of resilient and scalable distributed systems
- Experience working with cloud-native architecture
- Ability to design clean, modular code structures based on real-world business processes and rules
Tech stack:
- Primary Language: C# (.NET 9 and later)
- Architecture: Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), Event Sourcing
- Patterns: RESTful APIs, Hypermedia (HATEOAS), Event Publishing
- Monitoring: OpenTelemetry, structured logging, distributed tracing
Bonus points for candidates that have:
- Experience with event-driven and event-sourced systems (conceptually and in practice)
- Familiarity with sales domain or transactional retail platforms
