We are seeking a seasoned Android Developer with a passion for building innovative mobile applications in the fitness and wearable technology space. This role involves translating designs into high-quality, efficient code, integrating diverse data sources and APIs, and ensuring seamless interaction with wearable devices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mobile app development, a strong understanding of wearable integration, and a keen sense of interactive and user-centric design. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement interactive screens and features for mobile applications.
  • Translate project designs and wireframes into high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Work seamlessly with multiple data sources and third-party application programming interfaces (APIs).
  • Integrate third-party SDKs and APIs into Android applications.
  • Implement robust caching mechanisms to improve app performance and reduce data usage.
  • Test and edit code for optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Create app updates and release them periodically.
  • Perform unit testing and instrumentation testing to identify, debug, and resolve issues.
  • Design, implement, and manage updates to the app, ensuring periodic and timely releases.
  • Stay current with the latest trends, protocols, and advancements in mobile application development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Optimize app performance and troubleshoot potential bottlenecks.
  • Maintain documentation for code, APIs, and workflows to support development and maintenance.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from planning and design to testing and deployment.


Requirements:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Kotlin and Java.
  • At least 6 years of experience as a mobile app developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful Android projects.
  • Familiarity with the components and tools of Android Studio, including debugging and testing tools.
  • Proven experience working with external data sources, APIs, third-party libraries, JSON, and RESTful technologies.
  • Strong expertise in working with Bluetooth wearable devices, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Solid understanding of mobile application design principles, UX/UI standards, and app publishing guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to design interactive and user-friendly screens for mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with messaging technologies like Apache Kafka, Active MQ, or IBM MQ.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, collaboration, and strong written and oral communication.
  • Knowledge or experience in the fitness and wearable app domain is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of the fitness and wearable industry trends and requirements


Critical Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work in fast-paced environments.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on writing clean and scalable code.
  • Experience with app analytics tools and monitoring solutions to track app performance.
