scope of position

We are seeking an experienced Consulting Engineer with deep expertise in Service Provider (SP) network design and implementation, particularly across MPLS, Segment Routing (SR), and SRv6 technologies.

This role involves providing high-level planning, design, implementation, and optimization services for Service Provider customers leveraging Cisco’s advanced networking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Planning, Design, Implementation, and Optimization services to Cisco Advanced Services customers on SP solutions.
• Prepare HLDs (High-Level Designs), LLDs (Low-Level Designs), BoQs, Network Implementation Plans, and related project documentation.
• Participate in customer meetings to present risks, technical direction, and project status updates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver complex network transformation projects.
• Act as the technical lead/architect for project implementation and migration activities.
• Stay current and actively involved in industry deployments involving MPLS, SR, and SRv6.
• Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customer management and technical teams.
• Lead or participate in complex design, implementation, and performance engineering projects involving SP core technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across multiple layers and protocols (MPLS, SR, SRv6, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TE).
• Develop and deliver network migration plans considering dependencies and impact on networked applications.
• Ensure adherence to project delivery methodology, governance, and reporting standards.
• Track engagement deliverables, resource utilization, and financials in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Mentor and guide other engineers to ensure knowledge transfer and customer success.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• CCIE Service Provider certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in Professional Services or Service Provider environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ASR 9000/1000, NCS, Nexus (N9K, N7K, N5K), and modular switching platforms.
• Expert-level understanding of IOS-XR and IOS-XE operating systems.
• Proven experience with MPLS, Segment Routing, SRv6, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and QoS.
• Working knowledge of Zero Trust architectures and related network security concepts.
• Familiarity with network management, monitoring, and provisioning tools (Cisco and third-party).
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills (presentation, documentation, negotiation, and conflict resolution).
• Solid understanding of end-to-end IT processes including design, engineering, implementation, and operations.
• Good knowledge of the industry landscape, including competitor and partner technologies
