As a senior individual contributor, you'll combine hands-on coding with strategic technical leadership — setting the standard for code quality, scalability, and performance. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Product, Design, and Data Science to deliver features that directly impact thousands of users. Accountabilities:
- Own end-to-end feature delivery, from ideation and design to implementation and release
- Set and maintain high engineering standards for scalability, reliability, and performance
- Tackle complex technical challenges, balancing innovation with pragmatic execution
- Continuously improve system architecture, identifying and implementing refactoring and automation opportunities
- Contribute to incident management and postmortems, ensuring resilience and stability across platforms
- Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and Data Science to deliver impactful user-first solutions
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of major systems or features
- Expertise in one or more backend or full-stack ecosystems (TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Java/Kotlin, Go)
- Proven experience in designing and optimizing scalable systems
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD, testing practices, and observability tools
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align technical and business goals
- Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, distributed startup environment
- Nice to have: experience with AI/ML integration, data-driven or consumer-facing products, and modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)
