Status: Temporary Full-Time (37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, start date in October for 12 weeks)

The Sunnybrook Research Institute is seeking a Temporary Full-Time (12-week employment term) Research Assistant to support research projects at the Breast Cancer Survivorship Program.

The successful applicant will assist a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, researchers, and research staff conducting several active studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participant recruitment (i.e., ongoing screening and eligibility review of patients, etc.)
  • Assist with writing and completing manuscripts, systematic reviews, protocols, and grant applications in a timely manner
  • Preparation and management of study documents and other research files, including questionnaires, consent forms, and participant materials
  • Perform literature reviews to support research projects
  • Conduct data analysis as required for manuscripts, projects, or grants
  • Assist in the coordination of research projects, including timelines, team communications, and follow-ups
  • Track ethical approvals, collaboration agreements, and journal submissions
  • Maintenance of essential regulatory documents for ongoing trials
  • Organize and maintain project records and timelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills And Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences or a related field with at least one year of previous experience working in a research setting
  • Experience with in-person participant/patient recruitment
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer programs and software packages
  • Previous experience with/knowledge of research regulations (ICH-GCP, TCPS2, N2 SOPs, Health Canada Div 5)
  • Previous experience with REB applications
  • Attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Familiarity with research processes, including data collection and data entry
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Tact, discretion, and the ability to manage confidential and sensitive data and information
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while achieving specific goals within specific timeframes
  • Time management skills to manage and prioritize workload and timelines
  • Flexibility and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Multitasking
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing and able to rapidly learn new things
