The DevOps Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the strategy, implementation, and continuous improvement of DevOps practices across the organization. The main objective is to align development and operations teams to accelerate product delivery, ensure system stability, and improve efficiency across the software lifecycle through automation, continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the DevOps strategy: Set the vision, goals, and roadmap for DevOps aligned with business and technology objectives.
- Lead technical teams: Oversee infrastructure, automation, SRE (Site Reliability Engineering), and platform teams.
- Promote DevOps culture: Foster collaboration between development, QA, and operations, encouraging practices like Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, and agile change management.
- Drive automation and efficiency: Implement tools and processes to automate testing, deployments, monitoring, and infrastructure scaling.
- Ensure security and compliance: Integrate DevSecOps practices early in the development lifecycle.
- Cloud platform management: Lead the adoption and management of cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
- Monitoring and observability: Ensure resilient architecture through robust logging, alerting, metrics, and dashboards solutions.
Job Requirements
- Academic background: Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related fields. A master's degree or specialization in software architecture or technology management is desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum 8–10 years in technical IT roles, with at least 3–5 years leading DevOps or infrastructure teams.
- Proven experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure automation.
- Technical knowledge:
- Tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Terraform, Ansible, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk.
- Cloud: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Security: secret management, vulnerability scanning, compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.).
