About the Role

Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Engineer with expertise in Java (11+), Spring Boot, and microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud platforms, containerization, messaging systems, and database integration. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services that power our applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure backend services using Java 11+, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices deployed on Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Integrate with messaging systems like Kafka and RabbitMQ for asynchronous communication.
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Write unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito to ensure code quality.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile ceremonies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on performance and reliability.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

We are established as a centralized team collaborating across consulting, implementation, and operation to maintain and enhance client value offerings and services. We innovate conventional approaches, leveraging Deloitte technology, differentiated domain expertise, intellectual property, talent, and capacity to embed continuous advantage and deliver enhanced business value.

In this team, our focus is on catering to the unique needs and preferences of clients in the South Asia region. Your role within this dynamic team is essential for establishing networks and relationships across the client stakeholder ecosystem and ensuring service fulfillment. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other Deloitte leadership and stakeholders dedicated to the client. Your contributions will involve nurturing new and existing relationships, supporting presales life cycles, and playing a pivotal role in driving the success of Deloitte business growth for the specific client.

Your work profile


  • Strong proficiency in Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).
  • Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ for messaging.
  • Solid understanding of database integration with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Proficient in writing tests using JUnit and Mockito.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.



Desired qualifications

  • Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Knowledge of API security and authentication (OAuth2, JWT).
  • Exposure to container orchestration and service mesh technologies.
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent.

  • Base location: Bhubaneswar
  • This profile involves frequent travelling to client locations
