The NRL Telstra Premiership is the closest elite sporting competition in the country and the State of Origin series between New South Wales and Queensland is Australian sport’s greatest rivalry.

In The Role You Will

  • Design and build reusable, well-tested, scalable frontend components using React.js and Next.js
  • Develop responsive, accessible web interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Implement modern frontend patterns, state management solutions, and component architectures
  • Optimise frontend performance to ensure fast load times and responsiveness during peak traffic
  • Contribute to backend development using Node.js and NestJS to support full-stack features
  • Develop and consume RESTful and GraphQL APIs
  • Integrate third-party services, APIs, and identity solutions (OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO)
  • Write secure, clean code following best practices in performance, accessibility, and security
  • Work with microservices-based applications and distributed system design
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical decisions
  • Debug and resolve issues across the full stack with expertise in frontend troubleshooting

Ideally You Will Have

  • 4+ years of full-stack development experience with strong frontend focus
  • Solid experience with React.js, Next.js, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Proficient in building responsive interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, and CSS-in-JS solutions
  • Experience with Node.js/NestJS for building REST APIs and backend services
  • Strong understanding of component-based architecture, design patterns, and frontend best practices
  • Understanding of web performance optimisation, Core Web Vitals, and accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Understanding of API integration patterns and authentication systems (OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect)
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams
