Business Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Business Analyst with deep expertise in Banking, Compliance, and Financial Crime domains, particularly within large-scale enterprise software environments. The ideal candidate brings strong business and technical acumen, a proven record of success in financial services projects, and the ability to translate complex requirements into effective business and system solutions.

Position Title: Business Analyst

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days On-site per week)

Hiring Mode: Contract

Duration: 6months (anticipated extension)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead business analysis activities for enterprise-grade software projects in a distributed environment within the financial services sector.
• Partner with stakeholders across business and technology teams to define, document, and implement business and functional requirements.
• Work on projects focused on Financial Crime, Compliance, and Capital Markets, with in-depth exposure to asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and Derivatives.
• Perform detailed data analysis, including data querying and validation using SQL and other analytical tools.
• Facilitate workshops, user story creation, and sprint planning in alignment with Agile delivery methodologies.
• Serve as Scrum Master when required, ensuring effective sprint execution and stakeholder communication.
• Develop high-quality business and functional design documentation, ensuring clarity and completeness for both business and development teams.
• Collaborate closely with QA and development teams to ensure that delivered solutions meet defined business requirements.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, adapting communication style to technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills & Experience

• 12+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst in the Banking and Financial Services industry.
• Strong understanding of Compliance and Financial Crime processes and frameworks.
• Hands-on experience in Capital Markets and knowledge of multiple asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and Derivatives).
• Expertise in data analysis and SQL querying.
• Proven track record in Agile delivery environments, including experience as a Scrum Master.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
