Cloud Engineer (AWS)

Location: Sydney (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days WFH after onboarding)

Salary Range: $110,000 – $140,000

Our Managed Services team is responsible for maintenance, incident response, and optimisation for AWS Cloud infrastructure supporting our customers’ applications. We support customers across many industries, from SMB to Public Sector, using a wide range of modern technologies.

This is a hybrid work role, with three days in the office and two from home once onboarding is complete (3–6 months).


Our Managed Services Team

• Focuses on automating the boring stuff to reduce operational overhead

• Continuously monitors customer environments to stay ahead of incidents, security issues, and unnecessary Cloud spend

• Works directly with customers’ developers to foster lasting relationships and deliver outcomes

• Invests in our engineers to ensure they are on track to meet their career goals

In a Typical Day, You Will

• Manage AWS Cloud environments for business customers

• Configure secure, scalable, and performant solutions using Infrastructure as Code

• Configure and maintain security, monitoring, and backup tooling

• Provide mentorship for Level 1 Cloud Support Engineers

• Respond to, identify root cause for, and remediate critical and high-severity incidents

• Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines and tooling

• Continuously identify opportunities for Cloud modernisation and carry out implementation

In a Typical Day, You Will Not

• Fulfil trivial service requests such as password resets

• Triage tickets

Must-Haves

• The ability to work full-time in Australia

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining Public Cloud Infrastructure on AWS

• Demonstrated experience working with typical web components (APIs, reverse proxies, web servers, etc.)

• Understanding of web-based security and protection against common exploits

• Experience administering Linux-based systems

• Understanding of networking, particularly within a Public Cloud environment

• Experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD tools (e.g. CircleCI, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)

• Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code, especially CloudFormation

Nice-to-Haves

• Relevant university-level qualification (Information Technology, Computer Science)

• Experience administering Windows-based systems (SQL Server, Windows Server, Active Directory, etc.)

• Professional-level or higher AWS Certification

• Experience obtaining and maintaining compliance in a Public Cloud environment (e.g. PCI-DSS)

• Interest in AWS GenAI/ML
