Senior Back-End Engineer (Remote - Latam)

As a Senior Back-End Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable systems that power a leading fintech platform. You will be part of an innovative engineering team that safeguards business logic, manages critical integrations, and drives continuous product evolution. This position offers full autonomy to design solutions, propose new tools, and optimize performance across multiple systems. You'll collaborate with product and operational teams, mentor peers, and lead initiatives that improve reliability, observability, and scalability — ensuring technology continues to drive the company's accelerated growth.

Accountabilities:

• Design and implement efficient, maintainable, and scalable backend solutions while ensuring adherence to best engineering practices
• Participate in architectural discussions, define non-functional requirements, and propose new tools or frameworks to enhance productivity
• Develop metrics, alerts, and system dashboards using monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Kibana, Grafana, and New Relic
• Lead and participate in technical refinements, code reviews, and task-force planning for complex initiatives
• Create and maintain backend services, APIs, integration tests, unit tests, and SQL queries
• Support operational teams by monitoring system performance, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring service reliability
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to gather and refine business requirements, document features, and propose improvements
• Analyze large volumes of data and logs to detect, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Provide technical training and mentorship to new and existing team members, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning
  
  
  

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java and deep understanding of software engineering principles
• Solid knowledge of relational and/or non-relational databases
• Basic familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Demonstrated ownership, problem-solving mindset, and focus on delivering solutions
• Proven ability to collaborate with remote and international teams
• Clear and objective communicator, comfortable participating in technical discussions in English (fluency not required)
• Experience with system monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, and data analysis is a plus
