[5573] DevOps Engineer (Platform Engineering)

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer (Mid–Senior level) to design, implement, and manage the deployment of a highly scalable, secure, and observable platform ecosystem built on OpenShift. The platform integrates with Vault, multiple databases, messaging middleware, and observability tools to support mission-critical workloads and services.

Experience:

  • 4–8 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, SRE, or Platform Engineer.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenShift (Kubernetes) — deployments, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton) and automation.
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
  • Experience managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MinIO, and Elasticsearch.
  • Familiarity with Solace, Confluent Kafka, or similar messaging technologies.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Proficient in Bash, Python, or Go for scripting and automation.
  • Strong understanding of Linux system administration and networking fundamentals.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience integrating OpenShift with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Understanding of microservices architectures and service mesh (e.g., Istio).
  • Exposure to performance testing, load balancing, and capacity planning.
  • Experience with GitOps frameworks (ArgoCD).
  • Knowledge of security best practices for cloud-native platforms.
  • Certifications in Kubernetes, OpenShift, or HashiCorp Vault (preferred).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Ansible, Terraform, or Helm.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
  • Ensure zero-downtime deployments, scalability, and resilience through automation and monitoring.
  • Standardize and automate release processes, including branching and tagging strategies.
  • Collaborate with Digital Product teams to gather feedback and align on DevOps best practices.
  • Integrate and enforce security scanning tools (SonarQube, Veracode, Trivy, Syft).
  • Maintain base UBI images and apply regular security patches.
  • Configure alerting and dashboards for proactive issue detection and resolution.


Security & Compliance:

  • Integrate Vault with OpenShift for secure secrets and credential management.
  • Enforce least privilege access and RBAC across all platform layers.
  • Support vulnerability scanning, patching, and compliance automation.


Performance, Reliability & Troubleshooting

  • Analyse platform performance and implement scaling and optimization strategies.
  • Troubleshoot issues across networking, infrastructure, CI/CD, and application layers.
  • Participate in incident response and conduct post-mortem analysis for outages.


Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with developers and testers to support CI/CD automation, testing, and environment readiness.
  • Contribute to best practices documentation and mentor team members.
  • Participate in architecture discussions to ensure platform scalability, observability, and reliability.
