Head of Infrastructure and Security - AI Biotech | London, Paris or Berlin

SciPro is supporting one of Europe’s most exciting AI Biotech companies, building the first universal Foundation Model for biomedical breakthroughs. They are seeking a Head of Infrastructure and Security to build next-generation infrastructure to power scalable, secure, and high-performance AI research and discovery.

This is a unique, hands-on role for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, GPU compute, data security and AI enablement. You’ll design and maintain state-of-the-art platforms that balance innovation with operational excellence - ensuring robust, ISO-compliant systems that support the future of data-driven science.

Unlike traditional Head of IT or infrastructure posts, this is a highly technical position requiring someone comfortable building, optimising, and owning complex environments. The right person will understand both the engineering challenges and the organisational needs of fast-scaling AI platforms - coordinating internal teams, external vendors, and compliance requirements without defaulting to “hire-first” approaches.

You’ll bring:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or security engineering
  • 3+ of those in leadership roles where you were directly involved in setting strategy and building functions from the ground up in a fast-growing Tech environment,
  • Strong understanding of AWS (preferred), though GCP or Azure experience also welcome
  • Experience managing GPU compute environments, data pipelines, and infrastructure automation
  • Working knowledge of data privacy, compliance, and ISO standards
  • A pragmatic, proactive mindset — able to identify what’s needed and deliver without excessive bureaucracy, ideally suited to a fast-paced start up environment

You’ll be joining a highly collaborative and global team, this role can be positioned within France, the UK or Germany, with monthly travel to Paris and regular offsites.

If you’ve worked on infrastructure for AI, deep-tech, or scientific computing, and want to build the backbone of a venture-funded company pushing the boundaries of modern biomedical research, this is a role worth exploring.
