Data Science and Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/d)



Location: Remote (Germany) or Hamburg, Germany

As a Data Science and Machine Learning Engineer, you will contribute to the development and validation of intelligent algorithms that identify medically relevant patterns in complex datasets. Your work will directly support the creation of certified digital medical products used by healthcare professionals and patients.


Your Responsibilities


  • Transform complex, high-rate multidimensional data from real-world applications into clean, structured formats ready for analysis and machine learning
  • Develop and implement machine learning algorithms for data-driven detection of indication-relevant patterns
  • Integrate and optimize ML components within digital health applications
  • Validate and evaluate model performance with clinical and real-world data
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists, and medical experts to translate clinical needs into technical solutions
  • Contribute to documentation and compliance with medical device regulations (e.g., MDR, ISO 13485)


Your Profile


  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or related field
  • Working on machine learning tasks (e.g., by using scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) without supervision
  • Strong understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model validation
  • Experience with Python, version control systems (Git), and virtual machines
  • Understanding of statistical methods and data visualization
  • Advantageous: Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated environments
