- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
- 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
- 2 years of experience with security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling.
- Programming experience in Go or Python.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, including common security challenges or solutions related to cloud infrastructure and services.
- Experience in security engineering, security architecture or consulting.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
EIP Off-Google Security Engineers work on a broad set of efforts focusing on building solutions to improve security across our Acquisitions and Alphabet companies. In this role, you will be working on a wide variety of infrastructures, software designs, and technology stacks from startups that Google acquires and Alphabet companies that Google launches.
With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables. You design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance security solutions while working with partner teams.
You will perform technical security assessments, security consulting, and design reviews to highlight risk, helping Google teams and partners improve security.

Responsibilities
- Identify security issues and implement and design security controls, tools, and services to improve security systems and processes.
- Design and build/implement security solutions and identify, measure, and remediate security gaps in Alphabet's infrastructure using public clouds and on-premise physical networks.
- Review designs for cloud architecture and already deployed infrastructure to perform technical security assessments to develop threat models, provide design feedback, report security findings, and provide remediation recommendations.
- Design solutions/develop documentation to ensure Alphabet's infrastructure using public clouds, on-premise physical networks, and other third-party hosted software and systems operates to the highest security standards.
