Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – Cork, Ireland

Employment Type: Full-time | Up to €83k


About the Role:

We’re seeking a cloud infrastructure engineer with a strong background in Microsoft and Linux engineering to join a leading global financial services organization. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within the IT Security department, helping design, build, and maintain a secure, enterprise-class hybrid-cloud infrastructure. You’ll also contribute to the organization’s Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and support investigations when required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Active Directory and DNS, including managing Group Policy and Active Directory Security solutions.
  • Implement and maintain Active Directory design, schema, OU structures, replication topologies, and DC backup/restore processes.
  • Support Security Architects in the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure cloud solutions aligned with best practices.
  • Build and configure cloud-based infrastructure with a focus on identity and access management and secure configuration.
  • Develop and apply security controls across multiple cloud providers.
  • Automate and script security processes to accelerate configuration audits, risk assessments, and remediation activities.
  • Keep cloud infrastructure up to date and proactively recommend improvements to enhance security posture.
  • Investigate and resolve security incidents, document findings, and implement preventive measures.
  • Collaborate across internal teams to strengthen cyber resilience and security awareness.
  • Maintain documentation and diagrams for systems, tools, and operational processes.
  • Follow enterprise change management procedures and ticketing processes.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

About You:

  • 3+ years’ experience in enterprise-scale cloud security environments.
  • 5+ years’ experience with both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Solid understanding of operating system security and hardening practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, PowerShell) and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Strong communication skills—both written (documentation, procedures) and verbal (team collaboration).
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Comfortable managing multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and methodologies (Docker, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Relevant certifications such as RHCSA, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Security, or MCSE are highly desirable.
