Overview:
We're seeking a Field Engineer experienced in IT infrastructure, networking, and client-facing technical delivery. The role involves implementing, maintaining, and supporting systems for multiple clients in fast-paced environments. Ideal candidates are hands-on, technically strong, and excellent communicators who take ownership and deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document client networks and assist in planning and executing projects.
- Lead or assist with installations, configurations, and troubleshooting across Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Cisco networking, firewalls, VPNs, and backups.
- Manage small projects and support senior engineers on large-scale implementations.
- Maintain backup systems and ensure reliable data recovery.
- Configure and manage file, print, and remote access services.
- Administer Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and email systems.
- Provide accurate time estimates and communicate proactively with clients.
- Participate in pre-sales and project planning activities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
Skills & Qualifications:
- IT/Computer Science qualification.
- Previous experience in an MSP or field-based IT support role.
- Proficiency with Windows desktop/server environments, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and FortiGate/Fortinet firewalls.
- Familiarity with switching, routing, VLANs, and wireless (preferably Ubiquiti).
- Experience with Dell hardware, data backup/recovery, antivirus, and VPN technologies.
- Strong documentation, planning, and customer communication skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Certifications:
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet, or Dell certifications.
