JOB OPENING

Senior ML / AI Scientist

Working Rate: 80–100%

Starting date: Immediately

Location: Novigenix SA, Route de la Corniche 3, Phenyl building, 1066 Epalinges

Novigenix is a Swiss precision medicine company developing immune intelligence solutions by analyzing whole-blood RNA sequencing data using advanced machine learning. Our platform, LITOSeek™, identifies predictive immunotranscriptomic signatures to support therapy response prediction, early disease detection, and mechanism-of-action profiling in oncology and immune-mediated diseases.

Summary

We are seeking a Senior ML/AI Scientist with strong experience in biomarker discovery—preferably from NGS datasets—and a proven track record of building and deploying predictive machine learning models. In this role, you will lead model development, feature discovery, and interpretation pipelines powering LITOSeek™, working at the intersection of machine learning, immunology, and translational research.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and deploy predictive ML models based on NGS data.
  • Conduct biomarker discovery, feature reduction, and validation across clinical and biopharma datasets.
  • Translate prototypes into robust, reproducible pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with bioinformatics, clinical, and technical teams to ensure scientific and operational fit.
  • Present results clearly and support scientific communication (internal reviews, partner meetings).

Skills & Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Machine Learning, Statistics, Bioinformatics or related fields.
  • Mandatory: hands-on experience building predictive models from biological datasets.
  • Strong skills in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Experience with feature selection and biomarker signature development.
  • Strong expertise in reproducible software engineering practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipeline development, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Proficiency in workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake) with a focus on reproducibility and scalability.
  • Solid foundation in clean code design principles, modular architecture, and implementation of unit and integration testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with immune system biology or oncology (advantage).
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams is a plus.
  • Eligible to work in Switzerland (Swiss/EU citizenship or valid permit).
