About the job:
Based in The Hague, Netherlands, you will join NCIA as Software Development Engineer bringing your expertise to the The AirC2 Centre. AirC2 delivers planning, development, procurement, implementation and In-Service Support of NATO authorised AirC2 capabilities across the Alliance and bilaterally in the European Nations of the Alliance, satisfying the operational requirements, assuring the coherence, integrity and interoperability of the involved NATO and national systems and sub-systems.
Specifically you will join the Engineering functional group (FG) which governs architecture, design and system / service integration and coordinates, aligns and oversees the execution of technical activities and Programmes of work (PoW). The FG maintains and coordinates associated strategies, domain level architectures, technical assets, documentation and engineering best practice. It provides embedded and augmentation engineering support to projects and coordinates progress across internal stakeholders, including FGs, SAs, FAs, POs and supporting BAs.
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Software Development Engineer to work under the direction of the assigned functional manager. You will perform duties such as the following:
- Methods and tools
- Software design
- Programming/software development
- Systems design
- Software design
- Data modelling and design
- Development and Implementation
About You
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:
At least 2 years of experience as a system engineer, software engineer or system administrator in a multinational and/or military environment, working in one or more of the following areas:
- Real-time air domain applications (e.g. Sensor, TDL, Flight Plan)
- Network configuration and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, VPN, VLAN, firewalls, DNS, etc.)
- Linux administration (including patching)
- Cybersecurity infrastructure
- Software development (C, C++, Python, scripting)
- Server hardware and software configuration (hosting platforms, custom disk setups, RAID, redundancy)
- Understanding of Air Command and Control domain associated with Air planning operation or Surveillance and Tactical Data Links.
