The QA Engineer at SoSocial is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of the platform’s mobile and web applications. This role involves designing and executing test plans, identifying bugs, and collaborating closely with developers and product teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
The QA Engineer plays a key part in maintaining SoSocial’s high standards for functionality, performance, and stability across all releases.
Key Responsibilities
Testing Quality Assurance
- Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web, mobile, and backend systems.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and UI/UX testing across multiple environments.
- Validate new features, bug fixes, and API integrations before deployment.
- Identify, document, and track bugs using project management tools such as Jira or Linear.
- Ensure that all product releases meet defined acceptance and performance criteria.
- Build and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Cypress, Selenium, or Appium.
- Collaborate with developers to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct API testing using tools like Postman, Newman, or REST Assured.
- Support load and performance testing using JMeter, K6, or similar tools.
- Work closely with frontend, backend, and mobile teams to understand requirements and validate functionality.
- Collaborate with the product and design teams to ensure test coverage for all user stories.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and release reviews.
- Communicate test results, risks, and potential issues to stakeholders proactively.
- Create and maintain test documentation, including test cases, results, and release reports.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and best practices.
- Maintain a detailed record of known issues and testing history for reference and audits.
- Participate in pre-release validation and post-release smoke testing to ensure system stability.
- Collaborate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with internal stakeholders.
- Provide QA support during urgent fixes or production incidents.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in software testing or QA engineering.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, SDLC, and Agile processes.
- Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing tools (Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or similar).
- Experience with API testing (Postman, Swagger) and database validation (SQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Experience testing payment gateways, POS systems(Micros/ Shiji), or real-time applications (Sockets/Webhooks) is a plus.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by management.
- May be required to support app releases or urgent fixes outside regular working hours.
- The work location is Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
