Come join the Fintech team as a Software Engineer 1! You will help build the next generation of financial experiences in QuickBooks Online. You’ll be part of a team responsible for crafting intuitive, reliable, and secure user interfaces across web and mobile platforms. This is an early-career position where you’ll gain hands-on experience building frontend features, fixing bugs, and learning modern web development practices. You will work with senior engineers and cross-functional partners to deliver customer-first solutions that simplify financial workflows for millions of small businesses.
Responsibilities
Implement simple UI features or bug fixes using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS within established architecture.
Collaborate with senior engineers, designers, and product managers in an agile development team.
Write well-documented, testable code and participate in code reviews.
Assist in integrating frontend components with backend APIs and services.
Debug and resolve defects with guidance from more experienced engineers.
Learn and apply engineering best practices such as test-driven development (TDD), accessibility, and responsive design.
Gain exposure to the Fintech domain, including customer experiences related to invoicing, payments, and money movement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Academic or personal project experience with frontend technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
Understanding of basic programming concepts, version control, and software testing.
Willingness to learn secure software development practices and CI/CD workflows.
Strong problem-solving mindset and a collaborative, growth-oriented attitude.
Familiarity with any JavaScript SPA framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) is a plus.
