Our Engineering teams are in Cambridge (UK), Denver (USA), Salt Lake City (USA), and Ghent (Belgium) and are responsible for designing and developing our geospatial products which are available both as cloud services and for on-premises deployment. You will be helping to develop the next generation of innovative geospatial products that support mission-critical operations for our global customer base.

Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities

As an integral part of the Geospatial engineering team, the successful candidate will be developing new and supporting existing pipelines to meet the growing list of requirements for the platform product and new industry vertical applications. Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop CI/CD processes for quickly deploying new customer systems and updating existing ones
  • Support and maintain containerization/orchestration
  • Support and help expand CI/CD environment
  • Explore, propose, and POC new cloud capabilities
  • Coordinate penetration testing, code/virus scanning, and disseminate findings to engineering team for resolution
  • Build and maintain a platform or automated applications and infrastructure to support software development
  • Work with QA team to expand performance, load, and scalability tests
  • Manage and track changes to system infrastructure as code
  • Deploy applications via automation with configuration management tools
  • Measure performance and environment of application with system and application log tools
  • Work with Product Engineering to ensure technical alignment and that best practice approaches as well as industry and internal standards are being used
  • Support Delivery team with customer’s implementations
  • Coach Delivery team to adopt DevOps methodologies

Essential

Required Skills & Experience

You Must Have All Of The Following

  • Proficient scripting skills, preferably in Python, BASH, and JavaScript
  • Strong knowledge of Linux
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with infrastructure management tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, KubeCtl, ArgoCD, Rancher, and Helm
  • Experience running systems both in public cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) as well as private data centers
  • Experience using Git or other distributed version control systems
  • Experience with bug tracking tools, CI/CD tools, automation scripting languages, and code repositories
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to present technical concepts to Architects and Developers
  • US citizenship or permanent residency required
  • Fluent written and spoken English

Desirable

Ideally, You’ll Have Some Of The Following

  • Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) or web mapping
  • Experience within the telecommunications and/or utilities industries
  • Knowledge of Node.js design and development
  • Enterprise Integration especially web services
  • Mobile application development (iOS, Android, Windows)
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with Linux system architecture/administration and supporting network architecture
  • Experience working in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Knowledge of or experience with: OpenLayers, PostGIS, Pyramid, Shapely, Turf, and SQLAlchemy

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent industry experience.
