    Job Title: UX Designer Intern

    Department: IT

    FLSA: Non-Exempt

    General Function

    The Corporate office internship provides assistance with positions in the corporate office in West Des Moines. This is a paid internship with flexible hours. The individuals selected will be provided with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in their designated internship area.

    Reporting Relations

    Accountable and Reports to: AVP, IT Product Management, UI/UX

    Positions that Report to you: None

    Primary Duties And Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design intuitive and visually engaging digital experiences.
    • Assist with user research, journey mapping, wireframing, and prototyping to support product development.
    • Participate in usability testing and synthesize findings into actionable design recommendations.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and style guides.
    • Use tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch to build interactive design prototypes.
    • Support UX documentation and present design concepts to team members and stakeholders.
    • Learn about accessibility, responsive design, and design thinking principles through real-world application.
    • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all employee interactions.
    • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
    • Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

    • This position requires strong computer and analytical skills. The person must also have strong verbal and written communication skills and be extremely detailed oriented. The person must be well organized and capable of multi-tasking simultaneously

    Education And Experience

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field.
    • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking methodology.
    • Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or InVision.
    • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS is a plus, but not required.

    Physical Requirements

    • Must be physically able to perform light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
    • Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, and color vision, and field of vision.
    • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

    Working Conditions

    This position frequently involves a fast work pace in an office setting. Must be able to handle multiple jobs/situations every day.
