Job Title: Field IT Support Engineer
Location: OM Sohar
Work Model: Onsite Dispatch Support One Visit per month
You will be required to carry your own laptop when visiting on-site so you can connect with the team remotely for any instructions/guidelines. Are you comfortable with this requirement
- Work Volume: Approximately 1 visit per month (based on call-outs)
- Notice Period: Minimum 24-hour notice for each dispatch
Job Overview
Field IT Support Engineers to provide on-site technical support and smart hands assistance for IT infrastructure, desktop, and data center operations at client sites in Oman.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site troubleshooting and resolution for hardware, software, and operating system issues.
- Install, repair, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Perform smart hands and feet support in data center environments under instruction.
- Support basic network activities including LAN/WAN connectivity, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP troubleshooting.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and root cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Handle PC break/fix, basic administration of Windows, and optionally Mac/Linux OS.
- Provide peripheral and networking hardware assistance (routers, switches, racks, etc.).
- Maintain accurate documentation and update ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with customer security and hardware warranty policies.
Technical Requirements
- 2–3 years of strong experience in IT infrastructure field support.
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and fixing desktops, laptops, and printers.
- Familiarity with network concepts (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, RDP).
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of problem management and repeat call analysis.
- Experience using ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).
- Preferred Certifications:
- CompTIA A+
- Associate Degree in Electronics or related field
- OEM certifications (Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, HP, etc.)
