As a Senior Backend Engineer at Klerk, you’ll play a key role in architecting and scaling the systems that power our platform. You’ll work closely with our founders contributing to a product that already supports thousands of businesses and is on track to surpass millions in GMV. • Design & Scale: Architect, build, and maintain modern, distributed microservices to handle millions in transactions and bookings.
• Own Features: Drive projects end-to-end, from system design and development to testing, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
• Shape the Stack: Lead technical decisions on architecture, integrations, APIs, and infrastructure to support global scale.
• Mentor & Lead: Provide guidance, code reviews, and best practices to elevate the engineering team.
• Collaborate: Partner with product, data, and business teams to deliver features that solve real client pain points and unlock revenue.
• Innovate: Experiment with new technologies and approaches to keep our stack lean, efficient, and future-proof.

• Experience: 6+ years of backend development experience, including designing and operating production systems at scale.
• Technical Depth: Skilled in one or more backend languages (Python, Go, Java, or Node.js), with strong fundamentals in distributed systems, concurrency, and system design.
