Job Title: Full Stack Developer – Wine Hub

Employment Type: Full-Time

Company Overview: Wine Owners is a rapidly growing B2B SaaS scale-up that offers innovative software solutions designed for the wine industry, shaped by the industry participants.


A key product is Wine Hub, a SaaS management platform for wine retail and distribution businesses, addressing inventory management, purchasing and logistics, orchestration of multiple  sales channels and omnichannel needs, and with the mission to create an ecosystem of sales and sourcing channels, integrated industry infrastructure  and must-have services. 


Wine Hub has become the  leading fine wine business management platform since its release in the summer of 2020, with 90 business customers and strong annual recurring income growth. The majority (two thirds) of clients are in the UK, although it is deployed all over the world (USA, France, Switzerland, UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia).

Wine Owners are seeking a motivated and high-performing Full Stack Developer to join our enthusiastic and progressive team, to push on with an ambitious roadmap for Wine Hub, and make a real difference in a rapidly expanding company.

You will be able to take control of the entire product lifecycle, from conceptualisation of features to implementation within cross-functional and high-impact teams. Your code will be the lifeblood of our product, we love to give developers a sense of ownership.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain complex web applications using full-stack development technologies.
  • Collaborate with other developers to build and maintain REST APIs.
  • Build and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance SQL stored procedures.
  • Optimise database performance through query optimisation, indexing, and other techniques.
  • Design and implement database schemas and data models to support software  solutions.
  • Ensure the security, availability, and reliability of data stored in databases.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues.
  • Mentor co-worker developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions.
  • Lend support to the Head of Engineering in management of development and people
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving the quality of code and software design.
  • Document and maintain software systems and codebase to ensure knowledge sharing and ease of future maintenance.
  • Keep up-to-date with emerging trends in full-stack development and database technologies.


Requirements:


  • A minimum of 4-5 years commercial software development experience.
  • A keen interest in database technologies, primarily Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Very good knowledge of SQL, including stored procedures and query optimisation.
  • Knowledge of C#.
  • Knowledge of Javascript.
  • Understanding of version control tools such as SVN.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and development practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug code.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative and open approach.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • An aptitude for learning complex concepts at pace.
  • Predisposed to working within small, highly accountable teams.


Helpful to have:


  • Bachelor's degree or Masters in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, ideally from an administration perspective.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Experience working on SaaS solutions.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Business Analyst skills.
  • Knowledge of wine and wine operations.
