The role


Our team requires a motivated individual based in Sydney to support the continued exceptional service and management of key projects.


You will be responsible for


  • Managing, overseeing, and coordinating projects from award through completion of project, including overall site management of project(s) for successful and timely completion within budget as required by the contract. Prepares project installation plan, manages the plan, and prepares and implements job procedures.
  • Translating a variety of customer needs / requirements into detailed proposals and project implementation plans to meet customer requirements; reviewing and approving estimated costs prior to bid; providing technical assistance to sales force as and when required; supervising project design engineering, installation labor and subcontractors.
  • Identifying potential project risks and develops/implements strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
  • Establishing project milestones and analysing costs; reviewing actual vs. estimated job cost and providing timely and accurate project cost reports; identifying reasons for low job site productivity and determining impact on the project; adjusting or correcting project plan and/or project cost estimates as necessary to meet financial goals.
  • Coordinating the procurement of materials, supplies, and services necessary for timely, qualitative, and cost-effective completion of projects within budget.
  • Working with Sales colleagues and/or writing detailed change order proposals as necessary.
  • Effectively communicating project requirements to the project team and management. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records necessary for processing internal and external reports.


To be successful in the role you will need to have:


  • Excellent communication skills – ability to prepare effective written communications.
  • Attention to detail – ability to manage, and review documents, procedures, and reports to identify issues/errors and opportunities.
  • Experience in a Project Engineering or Project Management role.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships, collaborate, persuade and influence.
  • Proactive, ability to work on own initiative.
  • Strong financial analytical skills including cost control.
  • Willingness to take ownership of the role and take initiative and learn new tasks.
  • Adaptability – respond effectively to changes in situations or new information, be open and willing to learn new things and take on new challenges
  • Strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products.


Requirements


  • 3-5 years of previous, relevant engineering, field service or project management experience preferred.
