Project Manager – EU Deforestation Regulation Compliance


Start date: ASAP

Location: Vienna, 5 days on site

Duration: 6 months contract + extensions

Language: German


We are seeking a Project Manager fluent in German and English to lead and coordinate compliance initiatives related to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). This role ensures that our sourcing, procurement, and supply chain practices align with EUDR requirements, supporting our commitment to sustainability and ethical operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the company’s EUDR compliance roadmap in alignment with sustainability goals.
  • Ensure all relevant products and raw materials meet deforestation-free and traceability requirements under EUDR.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Manage cross-functional teams across procurement, legal, operations, and IT.
  • Monitor progress, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee supplier engagement and onboarding for EUDR compliance.
  • Implement systems for traceability and data exchange with compliance platforms (e.g., Osapiens HUB, Tracex).
  • Act as the primary liaison with internal teams and external partners.
  • Prepare reports and present compliance updates to senior leadership.
  • Stay updated on EUDR developments and related EU sustainability legislation (e.g., LkSG, CSDDD).
  • Advise on implications for hospitality sourcing and procurement.


Qualifications:

  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken).
  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in sustainability or compliance.
  • Knowledge of EU Deforestation Regulation and supply chain due diligence processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Osapiens HUB or similar compliance tools is required.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
