About The Job
As a Senior iOS Engineer at November Five, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality iOS applications used by thousands of users. You will take technical ownership of projects, mentor other engineers, and collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver robust, scalable, and delightful mobile experiences. You will help shape our engineering culture, drive architectural decisions, and ensure our apps meet the highest standards of performance, security, and usability.
IF YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL:
- Take technical ownership of iOS projects, setting standards for code quality, architecture, and best practices
- Design, build, and maintain advanced iOS applications using Swift (and Objective-C where relevant), ensuring scalability, maintainability, and reliability
- Lead technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions for iOS products
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend teams to define, design, and ship impactful new features
- Drive the adoption of best practices in testing (unit, integration, UI), automation, and continuous integration
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications across a wide range of iOS devices and OS versions
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize app performance, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks and bugs
- Stay up-to-date with the latest iOS trends, libraries, and technologies, and evaluate their potential for our products
- Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices
- Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team
The skills you will bring:
- 4+ years of professional experience developing and maintaining high-quality iOS applications, with at least one app published on the App Store
- Deep technical expertise in Swift (and Objective-C), iOS SDK, and modern iOS architecture components (e.g., SwiftUI, Combine, Core Data, MVVM)
- Demonstrated experience leading technical projects, making architectural decisions, and mentoring other engineers
- Strong understanding of iOS UI/UX design principles, Human Interface Guidelines, and best practices for building responsive, accessible, and visually appealing apps
- Experience integrating with RESTful APIs, handling offline storage, concurrency, and performance tuning
- Experience with Android (Kotlin, Kotlin multiplatform) and/or React Native is a strong plus
- Familiarity with testing frameworks (Maestro), CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git)
- Knowledge of software design patterns, scalable architecture, and security best practices for mobile apps
- Experience working in agile teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
- Passion for learning, sharing knowledge, and mentoring others

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus
