About Exaring AG

Our platform waipu.tv offers IPTV live streaming: Free TV, Pay TV, NewTV, Video-on-Demand, recordings, restart, and timeshift – all in a single app on a wide range of devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and TVs (FireTV, Apple TV, Smart TVs, and our own waipu.tv stick).

At Exaring AG, we operate the entire platform and handle the complete process: from video encoding to delivering streams to over a million customers across Germany.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Software Engineer, you’ll be part of the team building and scaling the core systems behind our CDN and ad-tech infrastructure. You’ll design and implement performant, distributed, and reliable software in Go, shaping how content and ads are delivered to millions of users in real time.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services for content delivery and ad insertion.
  • Build resilient, observable systems optimized for low latency and high throughput.
  • Collaborate with SRE and platform teams to deploy, monitor, and scale services in Kubernetes.
  • Contribute to internal frameworks and libraries that power our CDN and real-time decision systems.
  • Develop APIs (REST and gRPC) that integrate with our data, analytics, and streaming pipelines.
  • Participate in system design, code reviews, and continuous improvement of development processes.

Your Profile:

  • Strong experience in backend software development, with a focus on Go (Golang).
  • Understanding of distributed systems, caching, and high-performance networking (HTTP/2, QUIC, CDN concepts).
  • Experience designing and maintaining APIs and event-driven systems.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
  • Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
  • Knowledge of ad-tech, streaming, or large-scale content delivery systems is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments and debugging system-level issues.
  • Good proficiency in spoken and written German or English.
  • Availability for once-per-quarter trips to the main office in Munich.

What we offer:

  • The position can be based in Munich or remote within Germany.
  • Work on a product reaching millions of users in real time.
  • A modern, high-performance tech stack (find our tech stack here: Tech-Stack).
  • An agile, product-focused culture with short feedback loops.
  • A highly scalable infrastructure (multi-terabit CDN scale).
  • Real ownership, responsibility, and a strong, experienced engineering team.

What To Look Forward To

  • Remote-first work environment and home office.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Regular team events such as mountain hikes.
  • Personal learning budget for conferences, workshops, or further education.
  • Comprehensive insurance package.
  • 30 vacation days per year.
