We are seeking a hands-on leader to own our Azure & Power BI ecosystem, define the data architecture, and lead a team of 3–5 experts to deliver trusted insights and foster a data-driven culture across the company. You will standardize the BI stack, implement governance, and partner with business teams to deliver measurable value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of 3–5 data engineers, BI developers, and analysts; set goals, review work, and develop capabilities.
- Design and govern the Azure data platform (Data Lake, Databricks, Data Factory) to ensure security, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Establish and enforce Power BI governance (semantic models, dataflows, deployment pipelines, workspace strategy, dataset certification).
- Define data architecture and standards (modeling, naming, versioning, refresh, access) and ensure a single source of truth for certified datasets.
- Partner with business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver high-impact analytics and data science use cases, quantifying outcomes.
- Champion self-service analytics and data literacy through enablement, playbooks, and communities of practice.
- Implement monitoring, reliability, and CI/CD practices for BI assets; ensure documentation and operational readiness.
Qualifications & Leadership Competencies:
- 8+ years in data & analytics, with strong experience in Azure Data Platform and enterprise Power BI
- Proven track record defining data architecture, governance, and delivering BI at scale
- Hands-on experience with DAX, Power Query/M, SQL, Python
- Experienced leader: skilled in managing small technical and data science teams (3–5 people), coaching and developing talent
- Strong architect-operator mindset: balances long-term design with pragmatic delivery
- Expertise in data governance & stewardship, ensuring trust, lineage, and access control
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to drive adoption of standards and a data-driven culture across teams
- Advantageous: experience with QlikView/Qlik Sense
