The Technical Operations Director will lead the end-to-end technical operations of Hypermedia’s Digital Operations Department, overseeing Ad Operations, Campaign Management, and Support & Maintenance teams. This role bridges the gap between technology and business, driving operational excellence, system integration, and digital transformation across the organization.
The ideal candidate combines a strong IT and AdTech background with proven leadership in media and advertising operations. They will set up processes, workflows, and systems that enable scalability, accuracy, and efficiency, including the implementation and integration of CRM and AdOps tools across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Operations & Transformation
- Define and execute a digital transformation roadmap aligned with Hypermedia’s business goals.
- Lead system and workflow automation initiatives across AdOps, campaign delivery, and technical support.
- Evaluate and integrate CRM, CMS, and AdOps systems with existing infrastructure for seamless data flow.
- Oversee process standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement to enhance performance and collaboration.
- Manage RFPs and technical assessments for new digital and media technology solutions.
- AdOps, Campaign, and Support Management
- Oversee all Ad Operations and campaign delivery functions, ensuring flawless execution and reporting.
- Lead the support and maintenance teams, ensuring high system uptime and swift issue resolution.
- Establish KPIs, SLAs, and quality benchmarks for campaign performance, system health, and support response.
- Collaborate with business, sales, and content teams to align operational capabilities with client objectives.
- Technology & Product Leadership
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Own the lifecycle of internal tools, from design and development to deployment and maintenance.
- Evaluate existing tools and platforms, deciding whether to rebuild, integrate, or replace.
- Ensure scalability, security, and interoperability of all technology solutions.
- Supervise data infrastructure and architecture, ensuring robust analytics and insight generation.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage, mentor, and grow a multi-disciplinary technical operations team across AdOps, IT, and engineering.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Build cross-department alignment (Sales, Operations, Content, Finance) to ensure clear communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Serve as the bridge between technical execution and business strategy, ensuring clarity and shared understanding.
- Infrastructure, Integration & Security
- Oversee system performance, cloud deployments (AWS/Azure), and cybersecurity.
- Define governance standards, IT policies, and data protection frameworks.
- Ensure secure and efficient integrations across systems and platforms.
- Maintain high availability and disaster recovery readiness across all digital systems.
- Innovation & Automation
- Drive initiatives that enhance efficiency through AI, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Champion the adoption of Agile and DevOps practices to improve delivery timelines and collaboration.
- Identify opportunities to enhance campaign efficiency and revenue optimization through automation and better tooling.
- 10–15 years of experience in IT management, Ad Operations, and digital product or systems development.
- Strong understanding of AdTech ecosystems, campaign trafficking, DSPs, SSPs, and programmatic workflows.
- Proven experience with CRM systems, workflow automation, and system integrations (API-based).
- Hands-on knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), DevOps tools, and security frameworks.
- Strong grasp of data architecture, reporting, and performance analytics.
- Experience managing digital transformation projects within a media or advertising environment.
- Leadership: Ability to inspire, coach, and lead diverse technical teams.
- Communication: Fluent in both “business” and “tech” language; translating complexity into clarity.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to balance operational execution with long-term digital strategy.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Management: Skilled in aligning cross-functional teams and managing expectations.
