Role overview


We are looking for a Junior Frontend Developer to join our growing digital team. Reporting to our Frontend Lead / Development Manager, you will work with designers, backend developers, and project managers to build and maintain high-quality, user-friendly websites.


You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills and gain valuable experience in a supportive, fast-paced environment; perfect if you're at an early stage in your career.


Our hybrid working model is 4 days per week working from our Leicester office and 1 day remote within the UK.


As a Junior Frontend Developer at Williams Commerce, you will:


  • Develop responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces using a wide variety of frontend technologies.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate designs into functional web components.
  • Maintain and improve existing codebases and contribute to new projects.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards and best practices.
  • Debug and resolve frontend issues across browsers and devices.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging frontend trends and technologies.


You will bring:


  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, Next.js and JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (e.g. React, Vue, Angular).
  • Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Basic knowledge of RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
