Endpoint Platform Specialist (Contract Position)

Number of Positions: 1 Duration: 6 months initial contract

Location: Toronto, ON, CA

Must be eligible to work in Canada

Hybrid position, 2-3d/w onsite either in Toronto, Mississauga, or Montreal


Roles and responsibilities:

Looking to hire a highly skilled Endpoint Platform Specialist. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your deep technical expertise in Windows and Mac OS platforms and assume comprehensive ownership of our endpoint service offering platform. You will be instrumental in maintaining, evolving, and ensuring the stability of our endpoint platform, which is crucial for delivering a seamless experience for end users across the organization. As a key player in our transformation journey towards advanced technical operations, you will drive innovative solutions, enhance automation, and foster operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Endpoint Platform Specialist (Technical Lead):

• Ensure the optimal performance, security, and reliability of our physical endpoint environments.

• Oversee administration of Windows and Mac environments (including MECM/SCCM, Intune, JAMF for MAC, MDM for Mobility, Patch my PC and packaging and deployment lifecycle

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex endpoint issues to minimize downtime and ensure a seamless user experience.

• Monitor and enhance performance using available tools

• Lead deployments, configurations, and upgrades across the endpoint platform, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.

• Support backend and frontend endpoint tasks related to Windows and Mac environments

• Collaborate closely with endpoint security, infrastructure, and innovation teams to drive forward-thinking technical initiatives.

• Work closely with scrum master and manager on driving initiatives

• Oversee the application and operating system lifecycle.

• Improve to new levels of scalability and stability.

• Conduct proactive platform maintenance and health monitoring to anticipate and mitigate issues before they arise.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and implement innovative strategies to enhance platform scalability and stability.

• Mentor junior endpoint team members, guiding their development and facilitating the onboarding of new staff to bolster our team's expertise.


Must have skills/experience/qualifications:

• 10 years+ of proven experience in Windows environments, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role.

• Similar experience dealing with MacOS preferred

• Expertise in Intune and MECM/SCCM administration

• Reporting and query skills using CMPivot, Console or SQL

• Experience managing Windows devices via legacy and modern cloud methods (Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Endpoint Manager Configuration Manager, Microsoft Endpoint Manager)

• Experience managing Microsoft Office 365 services and how they relate to end-user computing (OneDrive, Teams, Defender)

• Experience with a range of endpoints (mobile, desktops, servers, hubs, BYOD)

• Demonstrated proficiency in JAMF PRO administration – JAMF 400 level certification preferred

• Strong understanding of the packaging and imaging process.

• Experience in managing projects from inception to implementation.

• Automation via scripting methods (PowerShell)

• Strong experience administering enterprise environments

• Strong experience managing Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Microsoft Endpoint Manager

• Windows Autopilot

• Ability to interact on a global level with multiple levels of employees.

• Ability to interpret and execute training on technical subjects.

• Ability to proactively identify and document problems in a test environment

• Excellent problem-solving and forward-thinking skills

• Team oriented; tolerance to change and accepting of feedback.


Nice to have skills:

• Strong understanding of application deployment lifecycle

• Experience with agile methodologies or relevant product management certifications.

• Familiarity with ITIL practices and DevOps principles is a plus.

• Experience using monitoring and performance optimization tools,

• A strong focus on innovation, with a history of proposing and implementing forward-thinking solutions.
