Role
CCA - Retail Digital Engineering is looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer who is proficient in both, React.Js and Node.Js, to help design, develop and implement cloud-based applications for Scotiabank customers. You will work as part of a team to ensure that the business and technical architecture of the delivered solution matches business requirements.
You will be asked to take technical lead on various aspects of design, development and mentoring of resources while working with architects, developers, key business stakeholders, various technical support teams across the Bank, regulatory and compliance groups, and senior leadership.
You will contribute to the overall success of CCA - Retail Digital Engineering unit, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. You will ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

- Promote a customer-focused culture to strengthen client relationships and leverage bank-wide resources.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on application development, architecture, integration, and testing standards.
- Oversee system enhancements, testing, documentation, implementation, and post-deployment support.
- Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area.
- Support production and user acceptance testing, including troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment.
- Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner.

- Ensure operational efficiency and compliance with Scotiabank’s values and conduct standards.
- React.Js (Front-end) – 5+ years of hands-on experience
- Node.Js (Backend for front-end layer) – 5+ years of hands-on experience
- HTML, CSS, Typescript – 5+ years of hands-on experience
- Experience with Accessibility (implement accessibility related functions onto app – code, etc.) – 5+ years of hands-on experience
- Experience working with authenticated and customer focused applications – 5+ years of hands-on experience
- Experience in application monitoring software, including Dynatrace, Splunk or their equivalent tools
- Must have solid background in system and application architecture solutions, development, maintenance, and support of a variety of banking/applications on different technology and platform
- Must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills and is capable of multi-tasking and managing concurrent tasks and initiatives
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment, and familiar with Agile development practice
- Must be a self-starter, fast learner with positive attitude and team player
- Bilingual English/Spanish language skills
