About the Role

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Head of Cyber Security to lead our client's cybersecurity initiatives across Yorkshire. In this critical role, you will set the direction for security operations, ensuring digital assets are well-protected against emerging threats. You’ll also play a vital part in fortifying their security posture, managing risk, and embedding a security-first culture within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the cybersecurity strategy to protect systems, networks, and data across the organisation.
• Oversee day-to-day security operations, including threat monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and IT teams to align security initiatives with business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).
• Lead security awareness programs to foster a proactive security culture among employees.
• Conduct risk assessments and continuously monitor the security landscape to anticipate and address threats.
• Manage and mentor a skilled cybersecurity team, fostering a high-performance environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in cybersecurity management, with a strong track record in a leadership role.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong technical knowledge of security operations, including incident response and threat intelligence.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC) are a plus.
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
