1/ Context
Our client is a leading player in the Belgian direct insurance market, recognized for its dynamic and innovative approach. With offices located at the Tour & Taxis site in Brussels, accessibility and flexibility are key: teleworking is an integral part of the corporate culture. After completing role-specific training and demonstrating proficiency, you will agree with your manager on a balanced mix of remote work and on-site presence for meetings, events, and training. 2/ Role & Responsibilities
- Be part of a distributed Agile development team, contributing to new applications, features, bug fixes, and operational maintenance to deliver maximum business value.
- Work on diverse projects aligned with your professional development goals.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, leveraging your technical expertise to guide decision-making.
- Maintain and evolve applications and interfaces used by the company, its customers, and external partners.
- Develop innovative, user-friendly applications following established standards, frameworks, and security guidelines.
- Manage or support release processes and monitor production go-live.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to analyze business needs and translate them into technical solutions through clean, high-quality code.
- Ensure quality via test-driven development and continuous improvement.
- Refactor existing code where necessary and act as a “software craftsman.”
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Take ownership of complex requests and issues.

3/ Profile
Must-have skills & experience
- Several years of professional experience.
- Strong expertise in recent Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate).
- Experience with application integration and relational databases.
- Experience in delivering end-to-end solutions aligned with business processes.
- Experience in problem-solving across varying complexity levels.
- Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Knowledge of application lifecycle management, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jira, SVN, GitHub, Jenkins).
- Passion for learning, self-development, and knowledge sharing.
Nice-to-have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or related field.
- Experience in the insurance sector.
- Familiarity with Guidewire and functional analysis.
Personal attributes
- Proficient in French or Dutch and English (mandatory).
- Strong experience in GOSU/Guidewire or Java.
