At Nortal, we believe in thinking big — creating solutions that have a meaningful, far-reaching impact. Whether we’re helping digitize governments, advancing healthcare, improving telecom services, or driving innovation in industry and manufacturing, our work has already touched the lives of more than half a billion people worldwide. And we’re just getting started.
With decades of experience transforming Estonia into a digital leader, our vision is to build a Seamless Society — where technology empowers people and businesses to thrive.
To reach our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a (Senior) Software Developer to join our growing team in Finland. You can work fully remotely from anywhere in Finland, with the option to visit our offices in Helsinki, Turku, Oulu, Uusikaupunki, or Jyväskylä whenever you like.
About The Project
You’ll be working in an exciting, long-term renewable energy client project that helps ensure the sustainability and traceability of bio-based raw materials.
Our system is used globally to track the origin of renewable raw materials, ensure traceability, and manage various bio-criteria defined for end products.
Different national regulations influence which criteria must be managed, making it a highly dynamic and meaningful environment to work in.
We value a positive mindset, proactive attitude, open communication, and genuine interest in sustainability.
You are the right person for this role if you prefer a commitment to a meaningful project, enjoy developing new features, and don’t shy away from maintaining and improving existing systems. You take ownership, care about quality, and find satisfaction in delivering reliable and sustainable solutions over time.

- Promote automation in documentation generation and development workflows.
- Facilitate agile Scrum or Kanban processes when needed.
- Identify and troubleshoot performance issues in distributed systems.
- Analyze and understand end-to-end system flows in complex architectures.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Strong skills in .NET and C#.
- Cloud-native development experience (Azure preferred).
- Working knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes is a plus.
- Solid understanding of programming paradigms (functional, object-oriented, etc.).
- Experience optimizing SQL schemas and understanding NoSQL trade-offs.
- Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
- Ability to introduce and maintain CD and DevSecOps practices.
- Understanding of performance and security testing principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in Finnish and English being essential.
- Strong team player mindset with openness, empathy, and courage to communicate with the client and colleagues alike.
