Role: Senior Data Scientist - Financial Crime & Fraud Analytics
Location: Remote (Germany preferred, EU considered)
Rate / Salary: €100–€130/hr
Duration: 6–12 months (extension likely)
Language: English (German B2–C1 required)
Join a leading financial organisation embarking on a large-scale AI and analytics transformation to enhance its financial crime and AML compliance capabilities in line with evolving German and EU regulations.
The project focuses on using machine learning and anomaly detection to identify suspicious activity across millions of transactions, reducing false positives, improving fraud response, and strengthening the integrity of financial systems.
Skills & Responsibilities
- 5 years’ experience in Data Science / ML Engineering
- Build and productionise machine learning models for fraud detection, anomaly detection, and transaction scoring.
- Domain experience in Banking, FinTech, Payments, or Financial Crime Analytic (Familiarity with BaFin, AMLD5, or EU AI Act compliance frameworks)
- Proficient in Python, PySpark SQL and ML Ops tools.
- Experience with GCP / AWS / Azure and CI/CD integration
- German B2–C1 (spoken and written).
